Belief in global warming

The idea of global warming taking over the entire world is the most frightening topic of current day. In particular text such as Peak Oil Survival: Preparation for Life after GridCrash, by Aric Mcbay and the book, The Skill of Ecological Perception, by Laura Sewall the authors creates mixed emotions and feelings for the reader. Considering the fact e certain individuals such as myself may be frightened by this information, the usage of this text can be seeked for the wrong reason. According to Aric Mcbay, “these problems reach deeply into the foundation of society—into the very roots of civilization.” Based on the idea that Mcbay feels society is the main cause of the environmental crisis, individuals may feel that there is no hope to solving the issue. The reason why this society may feel this particular way is because, the feeling of sorrow might take over their mind, or the feeling on hopelessness can create a giving up mind mentality. Furthermore, in the book The Skill of Ecological Perception by Laura Sewall she describes “myopia” the creation of one’s denial in believing certain media and discussions around important issues. While, reading this text the idea of myopia really began to settle in my mind. I began to consider whether the fact if I believe all the talk about global warming. Knowing that majority of my information was passed down from other individuals who knew about the problem, and certain reading articles, my actual belief in global warming began to become skeptical. The idea that my world is going to be destroyed by the lack of consideration of human beings, I really become scared and worried about the extinction of the human species. However, since all the information I have received about global warming is passed information I truly can say that my belief in global warming is slim.
